A Huynh close to home – CCC volunteer wins gold in Beijing

Congratulations to Carol Huynh (pronounced "win"), Olympic Gold Medal winner, Canadian hero and Calgary Counselling Centre volunteer.

Carol is an active volunteer with our agency, helping us in the Nexen Call Centre since 2007 and volunteering at bridal shows this January.

She joins over 185 volunteers, who assist us in every department of our organization. The daily operation of the Centre relies heavily on volunteers. Hundreds of them generously donate thousands of hours of their time and energy to the Centre. In 2007, 187 volunteers contributed 33,652.75 hours to the Centre.

From the Board of Directors, to volunteers who contribute to our counselling program, volunteers help us meet the ever increasing demand for our services.

By providing time and effort, Calgary Counselling Centre volunteers help us increase capacity and keep operating costs down in a number of vital areas. Volunteers serve in the Nexen Call Centre, perform research and administrative duties and help ensure the success of special events.

Although only some of our volunteers are as well known as Carol, all of them are heroes. They are some of the busiest people in the world and we’re proud they make time to help Calgary Counselling Centre.
