Great gifts.great results

Thank You!

Counselling, research, education and community, the four “pillars” of Calgary Counselling Centre’s service, are achievable because of shared values and financial commitments from many donors. Gifts and sponsorships from corporations, foundations and individuals enable the Centre to meet the rising need for professional counselling support, client outcome-based research, intern and post-graduate clinical studies and shared knowledge with the broader community about social, emotional and mental health.

Since September 2008 the Centre has experienced record numbers of calls for counselling and an increase in the number of persons accessing CCC’s income-based fee scale. We believe this is indicative of the impact of either increased workload or job loss on individuals and families because of the economic downturn in Alberta.

We extend our appreciation to all who have recently contributed to Calgary Counselling Centre, including the following:

•The W. Brett Wilson Family, through its fund at The Calgary Foundation, continues to support Calgary Counselling Centre’s research and treatment in the Wilson Centre for Domestic Abuse Studies. The Centre is a leading research and treatment centre in North America for those affected by abuse and violence. CCC seeks the root causes of domestic abuse, so that as a community we can stop its cycle.

Dick and Lois Haskayne, through the United Way Donor Choice program, continue to provide funds in areas of greatest need.

•The 3rd Annual River Spirit Golf Club Charity Golf Classic benefitting Calgary Counselling Centre raised over $32,000 for the Children of Divorce program. This program provides group therapy for children and their parents as they go through significant changes in the family structure, as a result of divorce or separation. The program is recognized nationally for its content and high rate of success. Thank you to all who participated!

•Technology upgrades are imperative to track client outcomes and for the best practices in daily operations. The Nickle Family Foundation grant will enable upgrades to CCC’s video system.

First Calgary Savings has contributed a Knowledge Builders Grant to support Board Strategic Planning.

Allan Markin is continually generous in supporting the post-graduate bursary program and research at CCC.

•The many individuals who give generously on a monthly or annual basis to help CCC meet growing community needs for counselling services.
