Great gifts.great results

Calgary Counselling Centre has never been busier. Close to 39,000 counselling visits were made to CCC in 2008. The first few months of 2009 have seen an average month over month increase to the Nexen Call Centre of 9.4 per cent.

We are projecting an 11.6 per cent increase in people served based on our activity during the first four months of 2009. These statistics speak to the added strains on work and family life during this time of global economic downturn and the direct impact it is having in our community.

The generosity of individuals, corporations and foundations is essential to the delivery of Calgary Counselling Centre programs that nourish and support thousands of men, women and children every month. Our sincere appreciation goes to all those who contribute to the Centre including the following donors.

• Martin Molyneaux and Debra Yedlin, EnCana Cares, The Calgary Foundation, J. C. Anderson Legacy Fund, Cross Wise Communications and many others are achieving great results by contributing gifts to be stewarded by Calgary Counselling Centre in areas of greatest need. There is a wide range of programs throughout the Centre that require financial support to meet growing societal demand.

• Nexen and Allan Markin have been champions in their support of post-graduate students at the Centre. Resident bursaries ensure students receive financial support, enabling them to complete clinical studies in our post graduate training program at Calgary Counselling Centre.

• The many individual donors who chose to honour their moms this Mother’s Day with gifts to Calgary Counselling Centre will improve the lives of many women. The 2009 Mother’s Day donors provide financial assistance for women accessing treatment for postpartum depression, domestic abuse, stress, low self esteem and eating disorders.
