CCC tweets FORE our tournament

Following us on Twitter can now help you prepare your game for the 4th Annual River Spirit Golf Club Charity Golf Classic benefitting Calgary Counselling Centre. This year, River Spirit Golf Club’s head pro – and one of the best golf instructors in Calgary – will be sharing golf tips on Twitter as part of the countdown to the Monday, Aug. 30, 2010 tournament.

Nestled on the edge of the Rocky Mountains, the Elbow River and Millburn Creek provide a breathtaking backdrop to many of River Spirit’s ‘signature’ holes. Who better to give tips about the course than River Spirit Golf Club Head Professional, Cathy Burton. Cathy is a Canadian Pro Golf Association (CPGA) Head Professional and has been with the club since it opened.

“Cathy joined the CPGA in 1989 and since then has been dedicated to instructing people of all ages and levels,” says Erin Holmes, Event Coordinator for River Spirit Golf Club. “Whether golf is new to you or you just need a little help with your swing, Cathy can help you achieve your ideal score.”

Proceeds from this year’s tournament will go to Calgary Counselling Centre’s (CCC) Post Graduate Student Bursaries. The Centre trains Post Graduate counselling students to be accredited in their field. Investing in today’s students ensures a next generation of expert practitioners. The skills students acquire at CCC advance mental health in our community. Post Graduate students learn a variety of skills to help them better putt their way to a professional career and the students help meet the growing demands of the Centre and thus help keep the community on par.
