Great Gifts…lead to Great Results at Calgary Counselling Centre
The CCC Board and Staff extend sincere appreciation to all who invested in Calgary Counselling Centre last year. 2009 broke records at Calgary Counselling Centre with record requests for counselling.
With thousands unable to pay the full cost of counselling sessions, CCC partners with individuals, foundations, corporations and others to ensure that access is available to all persons who depend on CCC for professional counselling support.
We extend our appreciation to all who have recently contributed to Calgary Counselling Centre, including the following:
- Past CCC Board member, Lois Haskayne and her husband Dick made a $150,000 commitment over five years to fund an annual Post-Graduate bursary. In recognition of the Haskayne’s past generosity and long-term support of CCC, the Haskayne Learning Centre for Graduate and Post-Graduate Counselling Studies was formally named in September 2009.
- Nexen Energy has renewed its annual support of a post-graduate counselling bursary with a $75,000 pledge over three years.
- RBC Foundation contributed to the success of the vital Responsible Choices for Children program with a gift of $10,000 for a second year. RBC also supported CCC through its employee volunteer program.
- New partnerships to raise funds for CCC programs were established in 2009 with River Spirit Golf Club and AKF Karate at SAIT/AKF Foundation. The annual River Spirit Golf Club Charity Golf Classic benefits programs at CCC and educates players about the programs. In 2009, the tournament raised $32,500 for the Children of Divorce program. AKF Karate at SAIT began a five year partnership to raise funds to break the cycle of domestic abuse with its annual “Breaking Event”. The first year raised over $14,000 for domestic abuse programs at CCC.
- Past Board member, Brian Martin and his colleagues in the “Calgary Breakfast Club” contributed significantly to the CCC Endowment Fund for support of post-graduate bursaries.
- The Dale Green Real Estate Team sponsorship of both the River Spirit Golf Club Charity Golf Classic and Calgary's Bravest Men events helped ensure the success of these two events.
- The many guests and sponsors who supported Calgary's Bravest Men events.
- Deborah Yedlin and Martin Molyneaux continued to demonstrate strong belief in CCC leadership and programs in 2009 through their generosity.
- The Viewpoint Charitable Foundation funded counselling research, two post-graduate student bursaries and donated resources to our library.
