Depressive disorders make one feel exhausted,
helpless, and hopeless.
Such negative thoughts and feelings make some people feel like giving up.
It is important to realize that these negative views are a part of
the depression and typically do not reflect actual circumstances.
Depression is one of the top reasons people
seek help from Calgary Counselling Centre.
The Centre has long offered support for depressive
disorders through individual counselling,
but increasing need for counselling related to
depression has prompted the Centre to launch a group
program.
This 12-week group for men and women provides a forum
where people who are affected by depression can meet to share
experiences and coping strategies with others in similar situations.
This group is based on the belief that changing the way you think
can have a powerful impact on the way you feel.
Clients learn to use a variety of techniques to help them better
manage current depressive symptoms and help guard against
future depressive episodes.
Calgary Counselling Centre hosts National Depression Screening Day
Calgary Counselling Centre (CCC) provides, as a free public service, an online depression screening test to anyone who visits our web site on National Depression Screening Day (NDSD). As part of our objective to create awareness of mental health issues, NDSD offers individuals the opportunity to be screened, with complete anonymity, for depression. The test does not attempt to offer a diagnosis, but points out to participants the presence or absence of depressive symptoms and offers a referral for further evaluation.

Fees and Registration
All clients must participate in individual counselling prior to beginning the group program. Acceptance in the group is not automatic and is at the discretion of the counsellor.
Please fill out our online Intake form or call 403.691.5991 to request an initial evaluation session.
Programs are offered on a regular basis throughout the year.
Fees for the Centre's programs (with the exception of the Marriage Preparation Program) are based on a sliding fee scale, according to the client's total gross family income. Your fee will be established during the initial telephone call with our Intake Office. However, fees can be discussed with your counsellor during the first session. The fee does not include the cost of a treatment manual,
which can be purchased through the
Centre at a cost of approximately $32.00.
Fees are payable each session by cash, Visa, Mastercard, or Interac.
